3. Is my recovery seed enough, or do I need to back up the device itself?
You only need your recovery seed. This single set of words backs up everything on the device. There is no need to backup the physical device or its files. Guarding your seed is your one and only backup responsibility.

4. What's the difference between the PIN and the Passphrase?

  • PIN: Protects the physical device from unauthorized use if lost or stolen.

  • Passphrase: Acts as a customizable "25th word" to your recovery seed. It creates an entirely separate, hidden wallet. Use it for an added security layer or plausible deniability.

5. I bought from a third party. How can I be sure it's safe?
If you didn't buy from our official shop, we recommend a full reset. In Trezor Suite, go to Settings > Device > Wipe Device. Then, go through the setup process as outlined above. This will generate brand new, random recovery seeds that only you possess, eliminating any risk from prior handling.

6. Where do I get the latest firmware and updates?
Trezor Suite will automatically notify you when a new firmware update is available. Updates are delivered directly through the Suite application during the installation process. Never install firmware from a website or email link—only through the connected Trezor Suite app.
